Ignition Day

Today we had our ignition day for 'enterprise'. We did lots off great activities including this one where we made a big cloud.

Wednesday, 24 July 2013

Welcome back to school. This term our concept is 'Enterprise' with a key understanding of ' Dream big and make it happen'. On Tuesday, we have an ignition day between morning tea and lunch, where children get a better understanding of the 'enterprise' concept whilst participating in a number of fun activities.

Our new furniture has arrived and the rooms look quite different. Children will have their own tote trays to put their books, pens and pencils in.

Teacher Only Day is on Monday 29th of July. School will commence on Tuesday 30th of July at 8.45am. The classroom opens at 8.30am so that children can get their equipment ready for the first lesson of the day.

Pens, pencils and rulers: Children use these items every day during their learning. Many children no longer have any equipment and constantly need to borrow what they need. Please ensure that your child has the necessary equipment at school this term. All equipment should be named so that it can be returned to the correct owner should it be left behind in class.

Pie Warmer Day on Thursdays this term. Bring along something to heat for your lunch. Please wrap the food in tin foil so that it can be heated in the oven.

Homework has been set. Please click on the tab on the home page.

Portfolios, Mid-year reports and Religious Education Learning Journals will arrive home on Friday, week 1. Please return portfolios and RE Learning Journals in week 2, before parent interviews. During the interviews, teachers will refer to the contents of the portfolio.

Teacher/Parent Interviews will be in week 2. Further details on how to book will be in this weeks newsletter.

Week 10 Notices

The last week of term and look at all the fantastic learning that has been happening!

Sharing our Learning
Please join us on Wednesday afternoon at 1.30pm in the hall for a performance and visual displays of some of the learning that has been happening in the middle school this term.

Shared lunch on Thursday to farewell Mr James
There will be shared lunch on Thursday for both room 14 and 15. We have an oven to warm food if necessary. We intend to begin the lunch a little earlier, at 12.15pm, so that children can still have their play time. We will not have the pie warmer day this Thursday. We will continue the pie warmer day next term.

Hit It Physical Education Programme
This programme will be on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Please bring PE uniform.

A number of children have run out of basic equipment such as pencils and pens. If your child needs some of these items, please send them along to school with a new supply at the beginning of next term. Thank you.

Homework and Home Reading
Homework is due this Friday.
Home reading is due every Friday and sent home on Mondays. Lately, we have had very few children bringing their reading packs back to school. Please ensure that children do their reading and that the packs with books come back every week. Please send back all home reading this week so that we can make up new packs for over the holidays.

Thank you Mr James
We wish Mr James and his family all the best in China. We are sure that the children he teaches in China, will enjoy having him as a teacher as much as we have. We thank Mr James for all his hard work, enthusiasm and care that he has given all the children that he has taught.
